POSE
Synopsis: Set in the 1980s, Pose looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.
Starring: Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross
FlyDuo Thoughts: This show hits. We’re big fans of uplifting, raw, and loving depictions of found -family in all its forms. In the spirit of keepin’ it 100, we still have to finish the rest of this series ourselves. But, so far, it’s been pretty dope! BIG recommend.
Tales of the City
Synopsis: Returning to San Francisco after a long absence, Mary Ann Singleton reunites with the community of characters at 28 Barbary Lane.
IMDB Summary: A middle-aged Mary Ann returns to San Francisco and reunites with the eccentric friends she left behind. "Tales of the City" focuses primarily on the people who live in a boardinghouse turned apartment complex owned by Anna Madrigal at 28 Barbary Lane, all of whom quickly become part of what Maupin coined a "logical family". It's no longer a secret that Mrs. Madrigal is transgender. Instead, she is haunted by something from her past that has long been too painful to share.
Starring: Laura Linney, Elliot Page, Olympia Dukakis
FlyDuo Thoughts: Communal living at its best. This depiction of found-family is definitely enjoyable to watch.
Sense 8
Synopsis: From the creators of "The Matrix" and "Babylon 5" comes this tense series in which eight people can telepathically experience each other's lives.
IMDB Synopsis: A group of people around the world are suddenly linked mentally, and must find a way to survive being hunted by those who see them as a threat to the world's order.
Starring: Tuppence Middleton, Brian J. Smith, Bae Doona, Jamie Clayton, Naveen Andrews, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Freema Agyeman
FlyDuo Thoughts: This show is straight FIRE🔥 How science fiction does found-family 😏

We’re Here
Synopsis: Follow renowned drag queens Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara, and Shangela as they continue their journey across small-town America, spreading love and connection through the art of drag.
In Season 3, the queens recruit a diverse group of local residents from Granbury, TX; St. George, UT; Brevard County, FL; Jackson, MS; and Sussex, NJ to share their stories, increase awareness, and promote acceptance in their communities by participating in one-night-only drag shows.
In each town, the queens inspire their “drag daughters” to express their genuine selves in front of their families, friends and communities, at times facing increased opposition and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation laws.
Starring: D.J. 'Shangela' Pierce, Caldwell Tidicue, Eureka D. Huggard
FlyDuo Thoughts: Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen, and Eureka will have you feelin’ all the literal feels. We love their unapologetic approach to living out loud and their embrace of keepin’ it a buck fifty despite the current climate of vitriol and hate being focused on the LGBTQIA+ community. It takes a Queen to walk this tall in platform heels in the face of bigotry – unbothered. Werk 💅🏻💅🏾
Sort Of
Synopsis: Sort Of follows a gender-fluid millennial who straddles various identities, exposing the identities and labels that are no longer applicable.
Starring: Bilal Baig, Gray Powell, Amanda Cordner
FlyDuo Thoughts: Sabi, played by actor Bilal Baig, is a well developed character and we’ve grown even more invested in watching as they navigate the challenges, tumults, joys, and pain that this journey called life offers us all. We’re looking forward to what the upcoming season has in store for Sabi and their world. Absolutely appreciated this show’s approach and it makes you want more. Well done HBO.
